Is MDF-500 a safe product to dispose of?
MDF is a two-part system. Both Part A and Part B are non-toxic and are not considered hazardous materials. Part A is a cationic detergent. The product will biodegrade within 30 days from being poured from the container. Use large amounts of water to dilute the product when disposing of Part A. The cationic detergent must be diluted with a large amount of water before the biodegradation begins. Part B contains 7.9% hydrogen peroxide. Exposure to direct sunlight will cause Part B to completely decompose into water and oxygen. How much time the product takes to decompose depends on the degree of direct sunlight. Instead of decomposing the product, Part B can be diluted with water and flushed directly down a drain. Part A and Part B mixture. Once Part A and Part B are combined, they give off oxygen for approximately 8 hours. Do not combine the parts and flush the combined product down a drain until after the 8-hour time period is over.
