Is Martin Brodeur a sore loser?
Sean Avery had a black eye because he got hit with a redirected puck in Game 1, not sure how that is relevant to Brodeur being a big baby. Watch the tape: Avery extended his hand to Brodeur, Brodeur looked in the other direction. If you watched the postgame handshakes, you would see that Devils players such as Clarkson and White still shook Avery’s hand and they were going at it with him all series. It’s called class and Marty clearly lacks it. Also, everybody is all over Avery’s case for his screen in Game 3 and saying he is disrespecting the game of hockey: you people are acting like he stomped on another player’s foot with his skate (Chris Pronger), slashed a player in the head (Marty McSorley), took a two-handed chop at a player’s face (Chris Simon), or mauled an unsuspecting opponent from behind (Todd Bertuzzi). Let’s put his actions in perspective before we start getting all high and mighty about a sport that promotes fighting and violence as a means of attracting more fans.
