Is Mark Chapman (the murderer of John Lennon) still in prison?
He is next eligible for parole in August 2010, and has previously been rejected on the grounds he may still be a danger – he originally planned to plead insanity, arguing HE was the “real” John Lennon, and that the real Lennon was an impostor. He dropped this plea and was sentences to “20 years to life”, meaning he coud not have been paroled before serving 20 years, but the parole is not a certainty.
