Is Mandarin Chinese a very difficult language to learn to speak and write?
I’m currently learning Japanese and have an interest in trying to learn Mandarin at some stage (5 years from now). I decided to go with Japanese because it’s supposed to be much easier than Mandarin. It is considered a category III language, meaning it takes well over a year of intensive study to master it.
