Is man truly made in the “image” of God?
In the ‘image’ of God means we can have the same qualities, such as being able to love and hate, to forgive, to think ahead, to use and understand language and to be aware of our situation and to plan to change or improve that situation. The animal world can only operate on instinct. For example, elephants have a nurturing instinct and will protect their young from predators. But when a young one dies, its mother ‘seems’ to grieve for a short time, then seems to forget and wanders off. People do not do this. A mother who loses a baby will never forget it.
