Is man made climate change a feminist issue?
@ RunningBear – >”If more women live in poverty than men, it must be because of single-mother-families, and that is a whole-society issue.” In order for that argument to hold, men must be failing to meet their share of the financial responsibility for their children. 93 women currently serve in the US 111th Congress – that is 17% – and that is a damn record – and it’s pathetic. Since 1917, there have been a total of 260 women that have served in the House and Senate – and that total is still not ½ of 1 Congress. There certainly are socio-cultural historical reasons that more women than men live in poverty, but they have more to do with fewer freedoms and limited access to opportunity and power than to their living arrangements.
