I loved Mamma Mia. it wasnt’ the best story line or the best singing in the world but had a wonderful feel to it and a great location. Millions must have loved it as it has stayed in the cinemas for weeks now. I can’t wait for the DVD. I saw Sweeney Todd on stage in the West End and loved it – the power, simplicity and great music. I hated the film and would not spend a penny on it! I don’t think the current musicals are any better or worse than the ‘great’ ones. Chicago, Evita, Cats and many others are just as great but made to appeal to a different kind of audience.
