Is malleability a chemical or physical property?
It’s a physical property. Consider the metal gold. It is wonderfully malleable. It has been hammered (and hammered, and hammered) into gold leaf for centuries. The gold leaf is not chemically different from the metal that began the process. No chemical changes take place when it is hammered into those ridiculously thin bits of foil.
