Is lying in court to get yourself a large alimony award considered fraud?
Florida courts seem to encourage lying and not verifying facts. The fact that a respondent has the idea the court is really interested in justice is far from reality. Attorneys have it set up to keep a case going as by law they can only charge hourly and will work together to keep the case going. The general public has no idea how no-fault law creates dishonesty and will punish the innocent. I found out the hard way when my wife left me without notice while I was at work; only to come home that day her not there with no idea. I did not know she left me for another man. She filed for divorce. Besides getting more then half of everything, lump sum alimony and permanent alimony; I was court ordered to pay all fee’s, both attorney’s or sent to jail. The judge ordered me to pay because I worked for a living. I was forced to get a very large loans after the final to keep from going to jail and loosing my job.
