Is LPS approved and certified for government use?

0

LPS-Remote Access is certifed IAW AFI 33-210 for use to connect to the AF-GIG and has been placed on the Air Force Evaluated/Approved Product List (AF E/APL). We received the certification from HQ AFNIC/EVSN on 20 October 2009. LPS was also approved as a continuity of operations (COOP) solution for the H1N1 pandemic by the DoD CIO. The memo is available online, but you need a CAC to access it. The AFNIC certification memo states that LPS is a “virtual GFE solution for secure remote access to accredited GIG resources.” The DoD CIO memo cites existing telework policy and determines that LPS is “a secure alternative to GFE.” Thus while LPS is operating (even on non-GFE), the LPS session is considered equivalent to GFE.
