As soon as you become pregnant your body starts changing, especially your hormone levels. Your increased hormones make your ligaments soft and stretchy, including the ligaments in your back. Unfortunately this also makes them painful, but every woman is different. Some women start noticing some mild back pain after just a few weeks, and some never have it. The best you can do is be very careful about your posture and back mechanics. Avoid bending and lifting, and when you have to bend, bend at your hips and keep your back straight. If you have other little ones try to avoid picking them up as much as possible.
