Is Loving the Alien named after the David Bowie track?

MT: Not really, no. We wanted a title that harked back to our first novel – Illegal Alien. Loving the Alien seemed to fit nicely. RP: It was at the back of our minds, but the title was mainly chosen to tie in with Illegal Alien (which was NOT named after the Genesis track). Loving the Alien refers of course to the Cold War setting, and also to plot elements which I shouldn’t reveal here I HATE spoilers. There are some cybernetic creatures in Loving the Alien – but not the ones you might expect. How come? RP: It was to do with copyright issues, plus the fact that we didn’t want to do the obvious. We’d left one or two things open at the end of Illegal Alien and wanted to deal with what might have happened next.
