Is logging allowed on National Forests or State Forests?
Timber management and harvesting are incorporated as part of the multiple uses and overall forest stewardship activities on these noteworthy public forest lands. The national forests are managed by the federal government through the U.S. Forest Service. There are four national forests in North Carolina. There are three state forests (and seven educational state forests) managed by the state government through the N.C. Division of Forest Resources.
