Is loft insulation covered under the current NIGS?
A7. As with the statutory civilian airport schemes, loft insulation is not provided under NIGS. Roof insulation has practical installation difficulties, and is property dependent, and may not contribute substantially in reducing internal noise levels. We shall, however, keep this under review and if the civil scheme changes to permit loft insulation, we will give consideration to adopting this addition to our scheme.
