Is living near a eletrical substation dangerous?

0

I am thinking of a large substation in the open with fence around it and 132 KV or higher voltage pylons/towers bringing in the power. Smaller substations in buildings are of much less concern. It is unlikely there are significant health risks at this distance, though this is difficult to prove one way or the other. Some reports mention further (from power lines) and even increasing at greater distances. This makes no sense, and highlights the difficulties of research. There are reports both ways. I notice most reviews focus on epidemiological research, and whether there are possible mechanisms for alternating electric or magnetic fields to affect cells. As magnetic fields drop off at the cube rate (3 times the distance = 1/27 of the energy) they drop rapidly. It seems likely to me that fields from an electric blanket or vacuum cleaner in the home are stronger. It is also possible the effects seen in studies are due to ozone or other secondary factors, not the electric or magnetic fiel
