Is listening to music a form of meditation?

You just caused me to rethink the effect of music on our souls. I know when I hear ‘patriotic’ music; I feel patriotic and when I hear spiritual music; I am stirred spiritually, etc. Music certainly does/can have the power to direct our awareness to different aspects in our lives. Even when I hear old songs that I loved before I became a Christian; I sometimes get those ‘old feelings’ that did not necessarily lead me in the direction of worship. It has been proven that music affects babies’ development and even plants are affected by music. Excellent question. Good for thought.
