Is limewire safe for viruses and stuff?
The Limewire connects itself to different networks! Limewire is popular for both music and viruses! Most of the programs are viruses. No one is 100 percent safe with viruses these days. P2P or Peer to peer programs like Limewire or any torrent clients is a way for virus to get to your computer. Though I think you have more chance to get a virus downloading files from limewire than on torrent. Having said that, getting a good anti virus will minimize it PLUS using a little common sense will do. On Limewire, make sure you check the bitrate of the music file you are downloading, no bitrate means the file is 90 percent a virus. Also check the size, if its a music file then it should be 2.5mb to 5mb, otherwise it might be a virus too. On torrent, check the comments of those people who already download it and better if you can download from respected people who usually uploaded torrent files.
