Is Libyas Colonel Gaddafi turning into a folk hero?
Gaddafi was always a folk hero among certain segments, especially the Marxist “terrorist/freedom fighter” crowd. He has friends internationally and he has devoted followers locally. That is why we need to broker a peace deal with him. We could take Libya over by force, but we’ll be guarding government buildings and disarming IEDs there and in European cities for the next 20 years, if we do.
