Is legalizing marijuana a good idea?
I do not smoke marijuana nor do I have any desire to. However, there really aren’t any real adverse health effects of marijuana. The gateway drug theory has been disproven. It’s not as likely to cause lung cancer as cigarettes (maybe a slight increase in risk, but fairly nominal). Overall, I’d say it’s nowhere near as bad as cigarettes. I wouldn’t have a problem with legalized marijuana. I do, however, believe as with all legal drugs we should have a minimum age requirement, and I believe it should be illegal to drive under the influence in the same way it’s illegal to drive under the influence of alcohol.
I do not smoke- tried it didn’t like it for some reason. However i say legalize it. i believe it would be good for the economy and i do believe it can be good for those with mental problems or physical pain. ( a close family member died a while back of cancer and she smoked while she was dying, she said it made her feel so much Better then anything else she tried). I say if a person wants to smoke let them smoke, but maybe pass ordinances that would only allow the use of it in homes, not in public.
