In order to be considered the "best" at anything, you have to beat the best. LeBron James is one of the most talented players in the game today but he needs to accomplish more before he can be considered the best. Kobe Bryant has five championship rings although three of them were with Shaquille O’Neal but Bryant has also played in the last three Finals, winning two and has the Lakers on the brink of a potential second three-peat going into next season.
Players that are considered great are labeled that because they are able to consistently lift up the level of play of their surrounding teammates. James, despite his many individual accolades, has not been able to lead his teams to the championship so far. While no one player in the league can guard James largely because of his array of skills, he has a bit of a ways to go before he can be considered the best in the game.
