I’ve been playing guitar for about a year and a half now and I have to say that as a beginner every body’s fingers hurt when they press down on the strings but after a month or so (depending on how much you practice) you’ll get calluses and then your fingers won’t hurt and using light gauge strings are thinner which makes them more loose and easier to press down but the main thing is to not give up.
