Is lauric acid/monolaurin the same as coconut oil (CNO)?

NO! Pure lauric acid cannot be ingested because it is severely irritating. When lauric acid is chemically bound to glycerol to form monolaurin (trade name Lauricidin®), there are no irritation or gastointestinal problems. In addition, Lauricidin® is more highly germicidal than lauric acid. Virgin CNO has no germicidal qualities.
