Is lanolin a natural ingredient?
Yes, we do consider lanolin a natural ingredient. Lanolin is natural oil found on sheep’s wool that is gathered from the wool after the sheep are sheared. In wool processing, the lanolin is extracted by squeezing the wool between rollers. Then, it is then filtered to remove any solid material. We use lanolin in some of our products because it is a wonderful natural moisturizer and water repellent. It also has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties to protect the skin from infection. Since lanolin is a by-product of sheep, similar to the relationship between honey and bees, and the animal is not harmed in any way by our harvesting the substance, we are very comfortable with using this material to add benefit to our products.
