Is lack of parental guidance the reason why girls get pregnant?
Maybe part of the reason. I prefer to call it lack of connection parents [plural] with girl. I think another reason might be the Dad / daughter relationship not being what it could be. Daughters relate to men the way their Dad has related with them. And so, if there is a broken connection, girls may go searching in the arms of a boy. The Dad / daughter relationship is extremely important. Don’t misunderstand me; I am not minimizing that mother / daughter relationship. Those are entirely different.
I dont believe that. I feel girls get pregnant for many reasons. One is by accident. I got pregnant at a young age but I was on birth control and followed the directions to a ‘t’. Almost every young mother will give you a different reason why they got pregnant and many of them will not say ‘my parents didnt show me enought attention or cared about me’. Children come into this world for many reasons that we will never know. What matters is will this young mother have the knowledge, attitude and maturity to raise this baby. Sometimes girls are not aware of all the ways to get pregnant. For instance, pulling out does not prevent pregnanct since the ‘precum’ can still have sperm, they think because they are on their period they can’t get pregnant. Wrong. I feel parents play a role in teaching kids the truth about sex and be up front.
