Is Krabi safe?
Yes, definitely. Thailand has for many years been the most democratic and forward thinking nation in Asia. The government in power is the Democrat party and is committed to continue the country’s progress improving education, political and economic stability and encouraging investment. Although the recent political demonstrations have made the headlines, the Thai people are still as tolerant and friendly as ever and nowhere more so than Krabi. Some 800 km south of Bangkok, life in Krabi could not be more relaxed. There is very much a country feel here and with a very diverse population living peacefully side by side. As a whole, Thailand has come out of the recent economic downturn relatively unscathed. The currency is strong, growth is on the up and the general feeling is one of prosperity and optimism. Krabi’s economy is mixed between agriculture and tourism and is very healthy and looks set to continue with both government and private investment flooding in.
