Is Kostya Tszyu the best welterweight boxer ever?
I think that you meant to say JUNIOR WELTERWEIGHT (140 pounds)- Kostya Tszyu actually never fought at welterweight (147 pounds). It is arguable that he was ONE OF the best 140 pounders, since the junior welterweight division is not as old as the welterweight division, but the 140 pound class has been around long enough to name a few guys that were better than him: Tony Canzoneri, Barney Ross, Aaron Pryor, Wilfredo Benitez, Pernell Whitaker, and maybe a few others. I think that Tszyu was the best of HIS era at 140, but I think that the guys I mentioned were better than him in their primes. Even though he brutally beat Julio Cesar Chavez, I still think that Chavez was better in his prime at that weight.
