Is Korean easier to learn than Mandarin?

I have learned Korean for one day and I find it tough going, particularly in the pronunciations. I have been learning Mandarin for some months and I am still learning. The Hanyu Pinyin is making it a little easier for English-educated person like me to learn Mandarin. Hence I can say with a certain measure of confidence that it is easier to learn Mandarin than Korean.
