Highly likely; a while back I skimmed through his book “Inside the Lion’s Den,” which amazingly enough I skimmed in 2004, when Shamrock began to decline although I’ve heard it said he had been declining way before then. People write the way they talk, and they talk the way they think; Shamrock was overly reliant on brute force, and hey, the man was strong. I think in his prime he could bench press 350 lbs for 10 repetitions, which was the standard “for warm up” benching set that him and his younger adoptive brother Frank Shamrock would use to do. In the 1990’s, the “classic” days of the UFC, the competition wasn’t as strong because the pool was much smaller, there were less “cross trainers,” and some of the guys that got in there were in pathetic shape. You ever see google video clips of Mark Kerr vs that former military guy? Mark Kerr was like a mountain of muscle, while the military guy weighed 250 lbs but was shaped like a potato! It was a sickening thing to watch; sickening, in wha
