Yes, she is, but it’s only Season 5 of American Idol! The other winners, as well as the talented runners-up, have the rest of their lifetime career to get the visibility that gains the Academy’s attention for a nomination. I think Carrie Underwood just won a couple of CMT (Country Music Television) awards recently. While it’s absolutely no comparison – not even close to a Grammy for status or recognition – it ain’t so bad really, considering she was just last season’s American Idol winner.
