Is kaytee lab blocks bad for rats?
Kaytee blocks are not good to feed rats as they are inferior, especially if they’re meant for another animal other than rats. The best block to feed rats are Harlan Teklad (HT) as I believe that they are 100% nutritionally complete (you still should feed your rattys other foods though). A lot of stores don’t carry HT blocks so you may have to order them online, just do a search. They are quite cheap (usually a dollar or less per lb) but you’d have to pay for shipping. I get mine from a pet store called Pet Supplies Plus so you want to check if there are any of those in your area. If you can’t get HT blocks anywhere a couple of of good kinds (which I believe are more expensive) are Mazuri and Oxbow.
