Is Kathy Griffin still on the D List after winning a Grammy?
Kathy Griffin: ‘On the D-list, where I belong’ Rejoice! The new season of Kathy Griffin’s “My Life on the D-List” is here. Things kicked off last night with Kathy joining Bette Midler (!) in Las Vegas. Kathy’s also pulling out all the stops in the hopes of winning a Grammy and finally getting off the D-List. But in a Q&A session with The Associated Press, it sounds as if she’s resigned to staying there a while, even if it means sharing space with the dreaded Speidi. AP: It’s hard to believe you’re still on the D-list. Griffin: I have proof although I’m flattered at the suggestion that I could even be a C-minus. Recently, I was on tour and they delivered me a sandwich and it said Taffy Griffin. Now, I’d like to think that’s maybe what they thought my stripper name was, but no. My name was on the marquee. Sold-out show. Taffy Griffin. I’m on the D-list where I belong. Sources: http://www.kansascity.com/starg
Kathy Griffin may have to look for a name change of her show’s title very soon. Griffin’s show on Bravo, “My Life on the D- List” is just not that anymore. The talented Griffin dishes out the most widely watched, most popular show on the Bravo network at present. In fact, the show’s season 5 premiere fetched for the Bravo network a record one million viewers on June 9th. Griffin has won 2 Emmy awards for her show. She has also won a Grammy nomination for her 2008 comedy album, “For Your Consideration”. When she has her stand up comedy shows, it mostly turns out to be a major sell out. In September this year, her memoir will be published. With so much happening in her life and Griffin being on a topsy turvy ride to her way to stardom, can she still claim to be a D- lister anymore?
