That is a big assumption there. Kate will use her name Catherine on formal documents just like anyone else would: because Catherine is her real first name.
If Kate was her legal name, she would go by Kate. But since she was born "Catherine Middleton" she will use her full name Catherine in her title.
It has nothing to do with acceptance by the royal family. Kate has proven herself to be elegant and gracious: a perfect queen.
Her REAL name IS Catherine;”Kate” is just a nickname for “Catherine.” The use of Catherine is considered more formal and more in tune with a royal title.William and her friends will continue to call her Kate,if she does use that name. The more formal name will be used with her titles and stylings-for FORMAL occasions and for PROPER mailings, news articles, government papers and the like. And etiquette dictates certain ways to use royal titles-formally.If Kate Middleton does marry William, she will be known as Catherine, the Princess William for formal correspondence, but she will also still be “Kate if she wishes.”The use of the name Catherine has nothing to do with ACCEPTANCE i
