Is Kagame the Rwandan Gnaeus Marcius Coriolanus?
Over the last few months, thanks to the Rwandan media, I came to feel a palpable growing popular resentment against the Rwandan dictator General Paul Kagame. Since last year at least, several newspapers have been documenting cases of power abuse, corruption, scandals, injustice, and repression going on in the tiny country of Rwanda. The media and dissenting Rwandans apparently voiced the unvoiced frustration of the Rwandan masses, through various outlets, such as the Internet, radio, statements, and press releases. The most compelling frustration was demonstrated in several ways: 1) Through daring news papers such as the recently suspended Umuseso and Umuvugizi; 2) by using international outlets such NGOs, especially Human Rights Watch and Common Wealth Human Rights Institute; 3) by working with and through academical institutions However, few could believe that the peaceful expression of dissent will reach levels where two ambassadors, including one of the founders of the ruling party
