Be sure it is untreated twine. Some of it is treated with an oily substance . You can smell it.The label will usually tell if it is treated but I have run across some that wasn’t labeled. Usually if you are in doubt it would be safer to buy the twine from a place that sells parts for making toys. There are lots of them on line. You won’t save too much making your own toys if they get your bird sick.
