Is jumpstART the School Year sponsored by Smithsonian Art Museums the same as the Smithsonian Teacher’s Night?
No. The Smithsonian Art Museums’ jumpstART the School Year is an event run by the Smithsonian art museums. This year jumpstART will take place on Wednesday, September 9th from 4:30 to 7 pm at the National Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian American Art Museum (collectively known as the Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture). The Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and the National Museum of African Art will be offering programs and resources. Smithsonian Teacher’s Night is an event that features all Smithsonian museums and is typically offered in the fall.
