Is juicing a good idea?
A good glass of juice per day is a good thing… apple, blueberry acai, pomegranet, grape… come to mind. Espcially the juices the make dark colored fluids. Some high speed juicers on the market that liquify even the pulp. The idea is to create as much surface area as possible so when you pour this into your digestive system you system can get to every molecule. Betacarotene is a strong cancer inhibitor… in vegtables like carrots… do it. Try this juicer…. the Vitamixer… Starbucks uses it to make those wondeful drinks! http://www.pleasanthillgrain.com/vita-mix_4500_blender_vita_mix_turboblend_model_vitamix_turbo_blend_blenders.
I’m a big fan of juicing…carrots are not my personal favorite, though. I feel amazing when I am juicing, and including dark leafy greens in the juice…(kale, parsley, chard, etc). Dark leafy greens have bitter flavor, though…so I like to juice it with other things… my favorite is apple (to sweeten), and celery (has a lot of natural salt), maybe some lemon and/or cucumber along with a bit of dark leafy greens. Juice is the best way to get nutrition straight into your body. This is not to undermine the importance of having good quality fiber in your diet–fiber acts as an intestinal broom. But juicing added to whatever diet you are already eating is very powerful as far as the health benefits. You’ll feel it! I don’t get the same healing benefits from fruit juice, personally. Not that it’s bad, I just don’t think it’s nearly as powerful.
