Is Jon Swift’s piece really parody?
A day or so after the Iowa caucus, Yahoo! News headlined an analysis of the “winners and losers” at http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/01/winners_losers_from_iowa.html by Stuart Rosenberg of RealClearPolitics.com, a supposedly non-partisan website (more on that later) that makes one wonder whether Swift’s post was parody or, rather, an amalgamation of the punditry coming out of the Iowa caucuses. I assume Swift meant to be tongue-in-cheek with his calling out of Huckabee as the big loser on the Republican side, declaration of Biden/Dodd/Richardson as the big winners for the Democrats, and endorsement of Kucinich’s political strategy; but as for the other candidates, there is really not that much difference between the two lists.
