Is Joining the British army against Islam for a muslim female?
Let me start off by saying that, while serving the army, whether you are on the front lines, on a computer, in a kitchen, or controlling an unmanned plane, it is the same as being on the front line because you are an integral part of the army. Having said that, I have wondered the same about joining the army but have decided that it is not permitted in Islam. I base this on a few facts. First of all the fact that the western armies fight wars in every corner of the world and to say that the majority of them are not in good faith is an understatement. So fighting in a war which you do not believe in, which almost certainly you will do, for a reason and purpose you don’t agree with is not right. Secondly, it is strictly forbidden to in Islam to kill innocents and civilians. Today’s warfare makes use of high powered explosives that kill without regard for innocents (there are tons and tons of such cases in Afghanistan, for instance).
