In the Army, you’re just another soldier expected to be used and thrown away. However, in the other two branches, your job will more likely involve technical expertise and personal responsibility over important military equipment. And you’re less likely to get shot or blown to pieces. So far as whether to join the military at all: You’ve got to remember the serious commitment you’re about to make. You will be expected to finish things you start and be responsible for people and equipment. You could be frequently deployed to neighboring countries to help out with natural disasters, humanitarian missions, anti-piracy patrols, etc. You may not have much of a choice
