Is jogging the same as running?

Basically, but jogging is when you run at your own pace. Running is just running in general. And sprinting is running as fast as you can!

Jogging is generally considered to be aerobic exercise – that is, you are exercising at a rate you can maintain. Running is anaerobic – your body is using oxygen at a rate faster than you are taking it in, which means you need to rest after a while. Look up anaerobic exercise on Wikipedia for more information.

Everyone has a different interpretation of what jogging and running means. Personally, running is faster than jogging and sprinting is faster than running. At our track practices our coach uses percents. Like if he said run 80% that would be a hard run, if he said 50% thats a jog.

No, jogging isn’t even close to really running. Jogging is, for me, where I can go for 30minutes running around parks and towns. Running is where i can sprint back and forth a field for 3 minutes. One burns out your energy quickly, the other prolongs you.

For me the difference between running and jogging is how far your stride extends from you center of gravity. That depends on the amount of forward thrust you are exerting. If you stub your toe and lose your balance and fall, you were probably running. If you can recover without falling, you are probably jogging.
