Is Joe Lieberman a traitor?

No, I do not see him as a traitor. I feel he would have to somehow go against the nation to be considered that. He simply choose to side with the Republican Party this time around. I think that was a mistake frankly and he would have been better to save his endorsement and stay center be independent and give voice to the good and bad on both sides. We need that kind of leader frankly, but he clearly is not that.

Apparently, if you don’t tow the line on EVERY issue in line with the DNC talking points, you are considered a traitor to the party. Far from being a traitor, Joe Lieberman should be commended for standing up for what he believes in. I just hope he can see the conservative light on some more issues !!

No, he’s not a traitor…but I wish he would make up his mind. He had one set of beliefs before he ran with Gore. I watched him change them wholesale during the campaign. Over the past several years he seems to have gone back to his old self and is sitting on the Independent fence. He supported McCain purely because of his strong military beliefs concerning the war in Iraq. I consider John Kerry the traitor, if ever we had one.

I love it. Talk of unity all you want, but as soon as someone from your party does something like this, you call him a traitor. No, he is not a traitor, he is just smart. He is still very liberal on many issues, but, like many Democrats felt McCain was the better choice.

He is not a traitor. He has not betrayed his country and countrymen to a foreign or domestic enemy. He is, however, entitled to support whomever he wants. The idea that a person has views which fit either into a left wing or right wing definition is a false dichotomy.
