Is JavaFX Mobile an OS or an Application Platform?
JavaFX is a platform for developing rich, expressive that can be deployed across desktop and mobile devices, and in the future, will be available on TVs and other devices as well. Content written in JavaFX runs on top of the Java platform. On mobile devices, this means JavaFX apps will run on Java ME, opening the door to bring JavaFX to billions of devices. While Sun had originally acquired assets from SavaJe to construct an advanced mobile OS and as a vehicle to bring JavaFX to mobile, we saw significant interest from operators and leading OEMs in getting JavaFX content running across all mobile operating systems, running directly on Java ME, to maximize its available across the market and to provide the broadest reach for app developers.
