No. Jaggery may possibly be healthier than refined sugar, but it is most definitely NOT an adequate replacement for artificial sweeteners. You would be consuming almost the same amount of sucrose in jaggery as in the same amount of table sugar. For many people that is ok, but not for diabetics. Diabetics need to carefully monitor their carbohydrate intake and the unrefined sugar in jaggery would blow almost any diabetic diet out of the water. Low carb diets need to stay low in carbohydrates. Otherwise you are defeating the purpose of what the diet is trying to accomplish.
