Is J.R.R. Tolkien more famous than C.S Lewis?
It is hard to measure relative fame so a definitive answer is not possible. Tolkien’s master-work “The Lord of the Rings” has outsold the Narnia books of Lewis, and it is also ranked higher on all of the “What are the greatest books” lists, so it is possible to argue that Tolkien is more famous, however this is just conjecture. The other side can also be argued because Lewis wrote many other famous works that are not connected to his Narnia series, such as Mere Christianity, Till We Have Faces, The Four Loves, and his autobiography, Surprised By Joy, to name a few. Tolkien is known almost exclusively for The Lord of the Rings and related works.
