Ivy Queen, perhaps the best known female reggaeton artist in the market, has signed a multi-album deal with Machete Music, the urban music imprint of Unviersal Music Latin Entertainment. Machete will release the singer’s upcoming album, “Drama Queen,” this summer. The signing, which is described as a 360 deal and includes profit sharing in touring, sponsorships and merchandising, will have Ivy Queen releasing her first album in three years. She was previously signed to a distribution deal via Univision Records, which in turn, was acquired by Machete’s parent company, Universal Music Latin Entertainment, in 2008.
