You will require a 10-14 day course of injections, and apart from some burning at the injection sites, you will be able carry on with your normal daily duties. There are no symptoms such as nausea, vomiting or mood changes. The process of egg collection takes place in the operating theatre, and you will be heavily sedated for this, so that you will experience no pain. The process of embryo transfer is performed without any form of anaesthetic, since it is a gentle insertion and is comparable to a Pap smear test that is done in a doctor’s office.
