Is IV-7 really different than other disinfectants like Lysol?
First of all, the active ingredient in IV-7 is silver dihydrogen citrate (SDC). SDC is patented by the manufacturer (PURE Bioscience). No other manufacturer has it. Second, you have to look at what those other products are claiming. Do they call themselves “sanitizers?” If so, by definition they don’t kill all the germs. Third, look at what those products contain. If they have alcohol or bleach, they aren’t “green” and aren’t in the lowest toxicity category like IV-7. Fourth, look at whether the other products claim to offer 24-hour residual protection, as IV-7 does. They don’t! Other antimicrobials only kill germs at the moment they are sprayed onto a surface. The surface quickly gets re-contaminated.
