This is a hotly debated topic on the message board. There seems to be some improvement in accuracy using a fan aspirated shield. Davis has a write-up (that some posters have criticized soundly) describing their findings in a field test. For me, I don’t find the incremental improvement worth the cost given that this is only a (serious) hobby.
