Is it worth buying an older motorcycle at a cheaper price?
When you compare costs of operating a bike do remember that insurance will be more for a new bike. If you can’t buy one outright you’ll also have to carry full coverage. Parts for older bikes can be very hard to find. Also, if you’re not into wrenching on them yourself you’ll have a hard time finding any shop that’ll work on bikes over 10 years old. For these reasons make sure the prospective bike is absolutely complete. On the plus side, the older bikes are sometimes easier to work on yourself than the new fuel injected, ABS equipped ones. I’d say buy what you want and what you can afford. Buy what you’ll really want to be riding on.
