Nah, One Piece is pretty popular. In fact, many anime you might think of as targeted towards younger female viewers are actually “seinen” shows: shows for adult males (eg Azumanga Daioh, Ichigo Mashimaro, Aria, Lucky Star, K-On). Of course, this is great because at 35 I can watch these shows with my 10 year old daughter =) Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh are some of her favorites. Of course, if you’re watching a Blues Clues equivalent then yes, it is wierd. =p But just because something is wierd doesn’t mean it’s wrong. It’s quite a pathetic existance that strives to be just like everyone else.
